SWEAT TOGETHER, SWEET TOGETHER:  Fitness Can Help Build Relationships

Relationships can be boring, and at times, a burden. We always strive to have that #relationship goals. We travel with our special ones, eat together, play, watch movies and do things that will make us closer. But have you tried hitting the gym together? Have you tried exercising with your partners? If not, then you are missing a great way to make your relationship last longer.

Fitness is the key!

Yes, you’ve read that right. No need for expensive movie dates, for out-of-town travels or for candlelit dinners on five-star restaurants. All you need is to reach for your partner’s hand and pull him or her to a running field, gym or simply in a spot within your house where you can exercise. And no, I am not telling you that those aforementioned forms of bonding are not necessary. It’s just that there is a very easy way to bring your hearts closer to each other, and that is by being fit together.

Fitness is the key!

Recent studies from Aron, et.al. (2000) show that couples who join in a challenging physical activity feel more satisfied with their relationship and more in love with their partner. Exercising makes you and your dear ones happier for as the body moves, you release endorphins which make you feel good. It will also help you feel confident, and with confidence, you are driven to show more affection to your partner or if you are still single, confidence will push you to build connection with other people.

Relationship and fitness can be likened to each other. In a relationship, you need to take care of your partner to work things out, while in fitness, you need to work out for your body to be healthy. These two can work hand in hand in achieving something great for yourself and your loved ones. It’s hitting two birds in one stone; filling two needs in one deed. Imagine having a fitness buddy who shares the same goals with you. By having mutual goals and motivating each other, you are not only building healthier bodies but also nurturing stronger bonds. What are you waiting for? Grab your partner’s hand and step towards a healthier body and a sweeter relationship.
